The biggest change of all was the new “horseless carriage”. After the initial trials of the automobile, Daddy remembered some townspeople who had the vision to imagine the full advent of automobiles. They prophesied the day would come when the streets would be so clean a lady could walk in them. Nobody gave any thought to the remote possibility of air pollution caused by the new horseless carriage.
